New “old” lodge in Dayton, WY

The views are magnificent, the setting pristine. A newlywed couple wanted a home reminiscent of an old hunting lodge, but with every modern convenience. She wanted to display her impressive collection of Western art. He wanted to display his collection of fine antiques and family memorabilia. We designed a home that makes extensive use of hand-hewn beams from two century-old dairy barns that we had located in Michigan and shipped to Wyoming for use in the new home. New cedar siding was treated with a natural stain to “age” the wood. Reclaimed wood planking for the floors, stained concrete, wrought iron, and honed stone complete the composition.
